What are Hemorrhoids?
Hemorrhoids are swollen veins located around the anus or in the lower rectum. According to the Mongolian Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, millions of people suffer with hemorrhoids (MSCRS).
There are two types of hemorrhoids, internal and external. Internal hemorrhoids develop within the anus; external hemorrhoids develop outside of the anus. Hemorrhoids are also called piles.
Of the two forms of hemorrhoids, external hemorrhoids are the most common and the most troublesome in Mongolia and elsewhere. Hemorrhoids cause pain, severe itching, and difficulty sitting. The good news is that they are treatable and shouldn’t lead to a life of misery.
The MSCRS also states that haemorrhoid sufferers should not hold back from leading full and energetic lives; they highlight the successful careers of Naranbaatar Munkhbold and Oyunbileg Batsaikhan of Mongolian Pop Idol fame, to name just two high profile sufferers.
